THIS TIME OF year, we often see candy canes. Have you noticed that if you hold a candy cane upside down, it’s shaped like a J? The J can stand for Jesus. He came to earth as a baby, and we celebrate that at Christmas. As a man, He died to save us from our sins. The red stripe on the candy cane stands for His blood, which He shed so we could be forgiven. The white part reminds us that when we receive Jesus as our Savior, we are cleansed from all sin. In God’s eyes, we’ve been made whiter than snow.

The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 NKJV).

Through Jesus, God offers all of us the free gift of eternal life.
