There is a Heaven to gain and a hell to shun. You may not be aware of hell today, but when you die, you will spend eternity in either Heaven or hell. If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you will go to hell and spend eternity in that place of torment and punishment.

God doesn’t want anyone to spend eternity in hell. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, into the world. Jesus died on the cross to redeem us, and God raised Him from the dead. Jesus paid for our sins with His blood so we could be reconciled to God. It’s God’s will that every man, woman, boy, and girl accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and be saved (1 Tim. 2:4).

As a teenager, Kenneth E. Hagin was fortunate to get the opportunity to accept Jesus as his Savior. One night his heart stopped three times and he went to hell. If God hadn’t intervened, he would have descended through those gates into that place of torment and punishment. It would have been his home forever.

When you die, you don’t have to descend into darkness and go to hell.

You can escape hell’s eternal torment by praying this prayer from your heart:

Dear God,

I come to You in Jesus’ Name. Jesus said, “Whoever comes to me I will never drive away” (John 6:37 NIV). I believe that. I believe You won’t drive me away, but You will receive me just as I am. And I thank You for that.

The Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. . . . For ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’ ” (Romans 10:9, 13 NLT). I confess Jesus as my Lord. I believe You raised Him from the dead, and I am calling on His Name!

Romans 10:10 (NLT) says, “It is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” I do believe in my heart, and I confess my faith in Jesus. Therefore, I am saved!
