When you make Jesus the Lord of your life, you become a new creation in Christ. The word new means “new in kind” or “new in quality.” In Christ, you’re not just a different person, you’re a new kind of person—one that never existed before.

You have a new identity and destiny. Your past no longer binds you. You’re no longer what your momma or daddy made you. You’re no longer what your environment made you. You are what God made you. You are the righteousness of God in Christ.
