We can all agree; life is too short to live in anger and strife! 1 Corinthians 13 is popularly known as the “Love Chapter” of the Bible. Even unbelievers are known to read this passage during wedding ceremonies. God’s love attracts everyone!

All over the Bible, we read passages about God’s wonderful love towards us. It seems the hard part is loving people when they’ve hurt us. It’s normal for our flesh to rise up and want to get back at them. Is living 1 Corinthians 13 possible? Absolutely! With God, anything is possible!

As Christians, we have the advantage of the Holy Spirit. When we were born again, God’s love was shed abroad in our hearts by the Spirit (Romans 5:5). Jesus shared with His disciples in Matthew 10:8, “… freely you have received; freely give.” When we receive God’s love for us, we are able to give that love to others.

When we read, “Love is patient, love is kind,” let’s put ourselves in these verses. “I am patient and kind with others, just as God is towards me.” Say it out loud. Write it down on a sticky note. Meditate on it throughout your day. Talk about it with others. Ask the Holy Spirit for help. We’re in this together!
