God's Wonder Women

NEARLY 1,500 WOMEN from all over the world gathered in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, this fall for Lynette Hagin's Kindle the Flame Women's Conference. They left the three-day meeting encouraged, strengthened, and changed.

Those at the conference learned that they can be "wonder women" when they trust in God's strength and keep the attitude of "I cannot be defeated and I will not quit!" Speakers encouraged the ladies to continue developing healthy connections with godly friends, live every moment in their God-given authority, and stay full of the Holy Ghost.

They also had a blast at the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun social and learned practical skills at the workshops. Kindle the Flame 2017 is scheduled for September 28–30 on the Rhema USA campus in Broken Arrow.

Have Faith in God

"THE FOUNDATION of our lives must be established upon Mark 11:22, "Have faith in God." We have to believe that God is, and that He always will be. We must believe what God has spoken about us and what He has spoken to us. He must be our number one priority in life.

"God has approved of us. Before we were born, God knew us (Jer. 1:5). God planned our steps. Psalm 139:16 (NLT) says, "Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." It's all the more important that we walk in the steps He has for us. We are special to Him.

"God is with us all the time. He said He would never leave us nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5). It's so important we acknowledge His presence and allow Him to help us, even in the little things in life. Oftentimes we call upon His help for the big things we encounter; but He also wants to help us in the little things.

"We can daily go to Him for strength. The Word says, "He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies" (Rom. 8:11). I call upon God's strength every day. When situations or difficulties come our way, we can call upon Him to strengthen us.

"Our life must be built upon God and His Word. We have to be totally dependent upon Him. We have to commune with Him at all times and continually cultivate a relationship with Him. He is the foundation of our life."

A Glimpse Behind the Scenes

"Usually the first of August, my mom and I go somewhere for a mother/daughter weekend. We get away to hear what the Lord is speaking to us about Kindle the Flame. We brainstorm and talk about the Thursday night sermon and what we've been hearing from the Lord. It just kind of develops into whatever it is.

"Over the years, I've become more involved with the conference. I do get to minister, but the best part of Kindle the Flame is being able to support my mom and minister with her.

"Together we get to minister to ladies from around the world. Just to see them enjoy KTF so much, see their lives changed, and see them entering into worship and being healed . . . this really ministers to me and blesses me.

"My desire is that the women are refreshed spiritually and get that boost for the rest of the year. Women can get so caught up in doing things for everybody else—in their jobs and in their families—that they don't take time off for themselves. It's always my hope that during Kindle the Flame, they can focus on themselves and get rejuvenated and ministered to and be able to go home and be effective in their workplaces and in their families."

"God's design is for connection. WE NEED GOD IN OUR LIVES, BUT WE ALSO NEED GOD IN OTHERS. His supply for us comes through the Body of Christ. One of the biggest delivery systems God likes to use is other people. Ephesians 3:2 (NKJV) says, "If indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you." Grace was given to Paul—not for Paul, but for believers. If believers had cut off Paul, they wouldn't have received what they needed from God, because it was in Paul to give to them."

"In Ephesians 1:19 Paul asks in prayer that we understand that power is available to us when we believe. That power not only affects and heals our lives, but WE CAN—LIKE THE SON OF GOD—BECOME CONDUITS AND DISPENSERS OF DIVINE POWER. We have an amazing authority that has been given to us in Christ, and we are to represent Him on the earth. We can't represent Him without power and authority. To the degree that we are aware of our authority, we can operate in it. If we lose consciousness of it, that authority will wane."

"We are living in a day and hour when the cares of this world can start sticking to us. But Hebrews 12 tells us to lay aside those weights and things that would try to trip us up. Many Christians are falling-down drunk with care, fear, and worry about our nation. But SOMETIMES WE NEED TO TURN OFF THOSE TALKING HEADS ON TELEVISION AND LISTEN TO THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH. We are to hook up with the One Who knows all things. We have the Holy Ghost on the inside of us and we don't have to let that stuff cling to us."

Hearts Set Afire at Kindle The Flame

"I loved the fact that she opened herself up to us." —MARIA A., WACO, TEXAS

"I bring a group of women every year to Kindle the Flame. Sometimes in the local church they haven't experienced what we've experienced at Rhema. I feel like the more they are exposed to what my husband and I were exposed to at Rhema, it helps our church to grow." —JULIE MEAUX, DESTINY BIBLE CHURCH, INDIANOLA, IOWA
