I remember a woman who attended one of Smith Wigglesworth’s meetings the last time he was in the United States. She knew that he was a man of God. It was quite obvious that he was anointed by the power of God. After the meeting, he returned to England, his native country.

Over a year later, it was discovered that this woman had cancer. By the time the cancer was found, it was too late, from a natural standpoint. Medically speaking, nothing could be done about it. She had become bedfast in her sister’s home.

She decided to contact the headquarters of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri, to find the address of Wigglesworth in England. She wrote him a letter, sent him a handkerchief, and asked him to lay his hands on the handkerchief. When he received the letter, he laid his hands on the handkerchief and sent it back to America.

When the postman delivered the letter with the handkerchief in it, this woman’s sister rushed it into her sister’s room, laid the handkerchief on the chest at the side of the bed, and read the instructions, which said, “Get all the believers in the household together, those who believe in divine healing and the power of God. After you lay the handkerchief on the woman, everyone together should claim her healing. Then begin to praise God for the healing of the bedridden, cancer-stricken patient.”

Confession: The healing power of God drives out all sickness and disease. As I apply the healing power of God to my body, every sickness and disease must go!
