GOD WANTS US to be successful in every area of our lives. Success is available in our relationships—in our marriages and with our family, friends, and coworkers. We can be successful in our finances and on our jobs. We can also see our dreams come to pass. As we obey God’s Word, we will see the success we desire.
For example, my favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” This verse is truly a foundation for every aspect of my life. Numerous times over the years, my natural strength seemed to be depleted. At those times, the strength I needed to do something came completely from the Lord.
The Word of God is alive and powerful. It gives us victory in life and provides the direction, guidance, and wisdom we need to succeed in every situation, even in troubled times. Turmoil around us can be perplexing. Powerful storms and floods have occurred. Wars and rumors of war are in the news, and inflation still troubles many.
When the world seems to be spinning out of control, God’s Word will keep our hearts and minds in peace. When the uncertainty of our times tries to overshadow us with worry and fear, we can run to the Word to find peace. His Word is our safety net in the midst of turmoil and harm.
MAKING TIME FOR WHAT’S IMPORTANT
It’s more important today than ever before that we build a strong foundation in God’s Word and make His Word a daily part of our lives. Sometimes our schedules are so busy that we think we don’t have time to read and meditate on the Word. But we seem to have time to do the things we want to do!
For example, we have time to watch our favorite programs on television. We can always find time to do all the other things that are important to us. However, are we making time to do the things that will cause us to walk in God’s peace and have success in our lives? Are we learning to be grounded in the Word and not moved by what we see with our natural eyes? Are we learning to trust the Lord and cast our cares on Him? Those things are what will cause peace to rule in our hearts.
If we’re not careful, we will find ourselves living defeated lives without any peace. That’s because we’ve neglected the very thing that will give us God’s power and His peace—the Word of God.
If we let ourselves be consumed with all the natural things of life, that’s what will come out when the tests and trials come. We will wring our hands and cry out to the Lord, “What are we going to do now?”
But if we set aside time to fill our minds and hearts with the Word, we will be ready when the crisis comes. We will be able to declare boldly that we’re not going under—we’re going over! And we can have peace—not turmoil, discouragement, worry, or distress—in the middle of any storm or struggle.
Think On This!
The key to your success and peace is found in God’s Word. As you meditate on these scriptures, they will strengthen your faith to receive God’s peace and find success in life.
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)” (John 10:10 AMPC).
“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you” (Eph. 3:20 TPT).
“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]” (2 Cor. 9:8 AMPC).
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
“And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love” (Rom. 5:5 NLT).
“When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yes, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet” (Prov. 3:24 AMPC).
“I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will give safety to your children and ease them” (Isa. 49:25 AMPC).
“My people will live in a peaceful neighborhood—in safe houses, in quiet gardens” (Isa. 32:18 Message).
“Once more he took hold of me, and I felt stronger. He said, ‘God loves you, so don’t let anything worry you or frighten you’ ” (Dan. 10:18–19 GNT).
