A Back to School Prayer for Your Kids

In the U.S., most students are getting ready to go back to school. The start of a new school year can be stressful for both kids and parents. Billions of dollars are spent on back to school supplies. But more than having pencils and notebooks is making sure kids are spiritually prepared for the challenges they will face at school. One of the best ways to help them is through prayer. Here is a back to school prayer to pray for your kids and grandkids.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for my children (grandchildren) as they go to school today. I commit them into Your hands and ask for Your perfect will to be done in their lives. I ask You to protect them and put a guard around their hearts. Help them to hear Your voice clearly and obey Your Word.

I ask You to help them to be a light in their school. Help them to be a voice for truth and justice. Give them the courage to honor You even when it's unpopular. Give them a heart of compassion toward those who need a friend.

I ask that You place them in the right classroom with the right teachers and classmates for this season in their lives. Anoint their minds for their schoolwork and give them wisdom and favor in school.

Even when they struggle, I trust that You use everything for their good—preparing them to be successful in Your plans.

I declare that no weapon formed against my children or their school will prosper. I thank You for Your hand on their lives. By faith, I know You are giving me discernment to know what and how to pray for them. Thank you for Your faithfulness, love, and goodness to us. In Jesus' Name, amen.
