There Is Always Something to Be Thankful For

People are thankful for many different things:

  • not being caught at a stoplight on their way to work
  • finding a parking place close to the front of the store
  • a remote control
  • caffeine on a Monday morning
  • a 50% off sale at their favorite store
  • an umbrella on a rainy day

It’s good to be thankful for these things. But there’s one thing we can be grateful for that has eternal consequences. The Bible says that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8)! That means we don’t have to do anything to “earn” our salvation. Jesus did it all. Our only responsibility is to accept Him as our Savior.

Is that something you can be thankful for? Have you accepted Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life? If you answered no to either of these questions, pray the following prayer to receive Jesus as your Savior:

Dear God,

I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of my sins. The Bible says, “If I confess with my mouth ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved” (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for giving me something to be thankful for!

In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
