God Does Some Things as a Sign

For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. — JOHN 5:4

I was preaching down in east Texas one time, and just as I closed my sermon, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, “There’s a sinner man standing outside this building, looking at you through those open doors. He has a double hernia. Call him in here and lay your hands on him, and the double hernia will disappear instantly.”

Well, I just repeated what I had heard and that fellow came in. After I laid hands on him, some of the men took him into the back room and examined him, but they couldn’t find the hernia. It had disappeared!

The next day, the pastor said, “Brother Hagin, nearly every man in this community knows this fellow, because he is the biggest landowner in this county. And if the governor of this state is running for re-election and wants to carry this county, he has to go through this man to get it. Since he’s a very prominent citizen, everyone knows that this man has been operated on twice for a hernia.”

You see, God does some things as a sign, such as in this situation and in sending that angel down to the pool of Bethesda. But I can’t guarantee that He is going to do it for you or me. But, remember, you can initiate healing yourself by getting into the Word of God, finding out what God says, and then acting on His Word.

Confession: I will get into the Word of God and find out for myself what God says. Then I will act on His Word, because acting on God’s Word always produces results.
