Don’t Neglect the Word

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. — PROVERBS 4:20–22

When God said, “Attend to My words,” He meant to put everything else out and put His Word in. Put His Word first, above everything else!

We need to ask ourselves the question, “What does God’s Word say?” Many times we pray without asking ourselves, “What does God’s Word say on the subject?” I think we endeavor to receive just through prayer what God’s Word offers. But sometimes it doesn’t come through prayer. In other words, if we are going to neglect the Word, prayer won’t work.

So find out what God’s Word has to say about your situation, and it will change your prayer life! It’s amazing how many prayers you’ll have to throw away when you find out what God’s Word says about your situation.

People will turn in the most outlandish prayer requests you have ever heard in your life! That’s the reason when people come to me and say, “Brother Hagin, I want you to pray for me,” I always say, “What for?” Why do I say that? Because I’ve found out that many times the Bible already answers their need without their even praying about it.

They already have their answer. They just need to accept what the Bible says about it.

Confession: I attend to God’s Word. I put it first place in my life. I find out what God’s Word says about my situation and I believe that. I accept what the Bible says about my situation as truth!
