Sufficiency
And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament [New Covenant] . . . . — 2 CORINTHIANS 3:4-6
We aren’t ordinary people.
We’re tied up with Omnipotence.
We’re united with God Himself.
We’re carrying out God’s will here on the earth.
We’re the channels through whom God is pouring Himself out upon the world.
It is perfectly normal, then, that God should become our sufficiency — that His ability should become our ability.
Now we can better understand First Corinthians 3:9, “For we are labourers together with God . . . .” That’s fellowship with the Father! He supplies strength, wisdom, grace, and ability — the supernatural tools with which we work as able ministers of the New Covenant.
Confession: My sufficiency is of God, who makes me an able minister of the New Covenant. God is my sufficiency. He is my ability. I am a laborer together with God in carrying out His will upon the earth.
